I wasn't even aware that I was a fan of beards and tattoos until Miles. I mean I have nothing against them, but they aren't things I'd say I actively seek out in a man. From this moment forward that changes!17 years in prison is a long time. Time to reflect. Time to plot. To make sure every detail is executed. To make sure every plan has a back up plan. After all you need to be prepared when seeking revenge.
"I didn't write their names because I had trouble remembering. No. I remember that day as if it were yesterday. I wrote their names down to remind myself that they could be erased in the blink of an eye. "
This made my list of top 2015 reads. The characters are well developed; it's usually hard for me to get into the 'old flame' thing, but Letty and Miles were perfect. She was the right combination of fierce, protective and nurturing to match his alpha, loyal and extremely calculating persona. The secondary characters were well developed...even found myself liking Knox in the end. As for Landon...sweetness that he is I'm hoping he has a book in this series.

I've never really been a fan of mob-based stories or movies for that matter. However, after hearing many good things about this book, I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did!! I really loved this story! While at times, it was challenging to keep up with all of the characters and who was who, it was pieced together nicely. The author does a great job of making you dislike the bad guys, and falling in love with the good guys. Thanks for a great read!!
I received this book and promised to give it a fair and honest review. I absolutely loved this book. From start to finish I had a hard time putting this book down. There was so much emotion throughout the whole book. I went through so many emotions as I read this book anger, frustration and even tears. I was always on the edge of my seat as I seem to turn the page waiting to see what I would read next.
Addison did an excellent job with telling this story. I'm looking forward to reading the following story in the series to see where it goes next.
Addison is a new author that I was invited to a Facebook release party for miles away. This is full of twist and turns a unexpected surprises. Miles is framed by family when he was only 18 . after seventeen years in prison, miles is ready to pick up where he left off with is girl Letty and get revenge for what him father and brothers did to him. No spoilers but the ending is exciting and surprising. I'm looking forward to reading more from Addison. Thank you for a great book and congratulations on the release.
Another great read by this author. Action, suspense, romance, drama, all wrapped up in one book. A look into the mafia world, where you never know who is on your side or who is out to get you. Miles is framed for a murder. Seventeen years later, he is finally getting out of prison. Two things are on his mind, his girl and revenge. With all the time he has had to plan, he still has secrets and surprises to deal with. But one thing is for sure, he won't back down from this fight. Live or die, Miles will take care of business!
This is the first book by Addison Kline and I am hooked. I would definitely classify this as a Mafia or gangster read which is also new to me, I did get a little overwhelmed with all the names at first their are a ton of mobsters. I loved Miles and Letty the main characters in this novel it was emotional to see them reconnect and I really enjoyed their interactions together so much love and sweetness, Nothing like a tattoo ex con monster who will do anything for his woman. This book had a ton of action and suspense and a couple of huge shockers . The Capadonnos are really not a family to be crossed, but Miles is way smarter than them all.
What can I say another hot read from Addison? She has done it again bring Miles to life. You are taken in to the crime world and never let go. Miles the son of the mafia’s crime lord, when he refused to follows orders they had him take the fall for a killing he didn’t commit. Miles spends 15 years behind bars and has plans to make those responsible pay for putting him behind bars. Miles walks out a free man but a man with a contract still on his head. Miles is just too hot to handle, but break your hard sweet and loyal to a fault.
Leticia “Letty” is Miles left behind love. She has been brought it to be the nurse of Miles father. She is looking to make a way for her and her son. She is feisty and refuses to let anyone back her in to a corner. She will fight for anyone that she hold dear to her heart.
This is just an all-around great story. Nonstop action and keep you on your toes wanting more. You are guided one way of think only to come back and have thing go a totally different way. I love this read. If you want one that is going to keep you guessing and keep you on the edge of your seat you have found it.
I liked this story and I liked the premise. Miles is getting out of jail after 17 years. He is a mob boss' son. On the outside, he appears to be an island once he's released. He speaks of vengeance for being wrongfully imprisoned just after his 18th birthday. We see the arrest, the release, the reunion with the family and with Letty. She was his girl when he was arrested and they really had no problems falling back into being a couple upon his release. We get a first hand look at how Michael rules his family - both mob and blood. There are plenty of shootings and private meetings. However, there were no real bumps in the story. There was no roller coaster, it was more like a steady parade and in the end (mostly) wrapped up with a bow. Seeing as this is a story about mob families, I expected a little more excitement/high energy scenes.
A few things bothered me
*Once released, Miles had really no trouble adjusting to life on the outside.
*He and Letty fell right back into being a couple despite the communication issues.
*There were a few too many characters to try to keep them all straight
*I liked the characters in the book, but I never really connected with anyone to actually "feel" for them - except for Landon and G...a little.
I am curious to see what happens with some of the family, so I will be tuning in to future books in the series.
